Since 2003, SparkFun has been helping turn ideas into reality – whether you’re creating a smart weather station, exploring the frontier of machine learning, building a robot for school or prototyping your first (or tenth) product. No matter your vision or skill level, their open source components, resources and online tutorials are designed to broaden access to innovative technology and make the road to a finished project shorter.
Sensirion and SparkFun
Matching philosophies create a successful partnership

Two innovative companies with similar visions formed a strong partnership over the years. Making modern technology available for everyone is only one goal that the two companies have in common. The collaboration is growing with new and innovative ideas from both parties.
SparkFun founder & engineer Nathan Seidle on Sensirion and the collaboration between SparkFun and Sensirion: "Sensirion is known for their quality and documentation. You can trust Sensirion sensors to be well thought out, robust solutions. We always enjoy working with Sensirion for the latest environmental sensing capabilities - they are the gold standard when it comes to environmental sensors."
Sensirion’s goal is to solve challenging problems in the sensor space, and to provide best-in-class performance for environmental and flow sensing products. While we provide our own evaluation tools to test performance on a component level, the partnership with Sparkfun makes system-level integration a breeze thanks to the breakout boards that allow solderless connection to many development kits out there, be that Arduino, Raspberry Pi or any other platform that allows external peripherals. This enables our professional customers to test out ideas within minutes of their conception, and for the hobbyist community to build any device they can imagine – spending all of their efforts on improving on their application idea, rather than the integration side.

The SHTC3 is low cost, easy-to-use, highly accurate, digital humidity and temperature sensor. This sensor is ideal for environmental sensing and data logging and perfect for build a weather stations or humidor control system. All you need are two lines for I2C communication, and you’ll have relative humidity readings and very accurate temperature readings as a bonus!

The SGP30 boasts high stability with low long term drift. With its continuous baseline compensation algorithm, readings stay accurate over time. You can even fine tune your readings by interfacing with an external humidity sensor to add humidity compensation.
SparkFun Highlight
Sparkfun’s recently launched “A La Carte” project takes the idea of breakout boards one step further, allowing customers to build integrated PCBs with a variety of components.
Just by point and click you can make your way to a fully-populated circuit board.
Why create a custom product?
SparkFun has been designing boards for more than a decade and is the source for the latest and greatest technologies. They have taken all that knowledge and quantized components and modules into easy-to-choose blocks. SparkFun À La Carte (ALC) allows you to create custom boards by selecting only the blocks you want to use and adding them to your board. Whether you're a test engineer building 15 test fixtures or a Burning Man artist needing 47 light-activated servo controllers, ALC is there to bridge the gap between prototype and production.
How Does It Work?
