ForzeH2 - Hydrogen Electric Racing
In a conventional road car, the energy that is stored in fuel is converted to mechanical energy, by the principle of combustion. The Forze cars however, utilize a different and far more efficient concept. The fuel cell on board the vehicles converts the energy stored in its fuel, the hydrogen, to electric energy. This means that the hydrogen fuel cell system can be used to power an electric drivetrain like a battery.
The team of ForzeH2 has also used some sensors from Sensirion for their car to check potential blockages of the radiators and receive cooling information. As one of the radiators experiences blockage due to the large amount of components present there, they want to perform a test using Sensirion's differential pressure sensors to see the difference in air flow through both radiators. This will give them not only an idea of how severe the blockage is, but it will also give cooling information that they can use for their upcoming design. In other words, if they find out that they need significantly more cooling, they could change the design so more air enters the radiator, or they can look into a different kind of radiator with higher efficiency.
